Michael Wood (sinh 1936) là học giả người Anh, được biết đến chủ yếu qua các công trình khảo cứu và phim tài liệu về lịch sử văn minh cổ đại, trong đó có loạt phim và sách về Alexander Đại đế, Troy và văn minh Mesopotamia. Mảng quan tâm của ông giao nhau giữa cổ sử, khảo cổ học và sự tiếp nhận văn hoá — tức không thuần tuý khảo cổ mà nghiêng về cách hậu thế đọc lại quá khứ. Wood không đặt vấn đề theo hướng xác tín hay phủ nhận tôn giáo cổ, mà theo hướng cách con người đọc dấu hiệu: tính mơ hồ của lời sấm buộc người nghe tự luận giải, và chính chỗ trống ấy khiến lời sấm sống được lâu dài.
