Giới thiệu

This study presents a scientific comparison between Freudian psychoanalytical dream interpretation and the classical Islamic approach of Ibn-e-Sirīn (R.A). Based on a sample of 100 subjects from Islamabad—50 practicing Muslims and 50 common Muslims—their recent dreams were recorded and analyzed through both frameworks. The findings indicate that most dreams are related to wish-fulfillment rather than anxiety or symbolism. Comparatively, Ibn-e-Sirīn’s interpretations assign a higher ratio to wish-fulfillment and symbolic dreams, while Freud’s analysis emphasizes anxiety dreams. The study highlights both overlapping and divergent aspects of Muslim and Western approaches to dream interpretation, offering insights into the broader dialogue between psychology and Islamic tradition.
